Today, the Syrian Women's Council issued a statement condemning the violence and severe beatings that two young women were subjected to in the village of Tal Al-Samen, north of Raqqa, at the hands of a group of men and children.

In its statement, the Council warned of the increase in murders and violence against women under “honor” pretexts, within the framework of the extermination of women by the male mentality, stressing the need for the concerned authorities to assume their responsibility and punish and hold the perpetrators of this “brutal crime” accountable.

This crime is considered a comprehensive, collective issue, especially with the approaching International Women's Day, in which women celebrate their elimination of various types of violence applied to them.

Through its statement, the Council stressed the need to activate laws that protect and protect women from crimes.
