Sweida's National Guard dismantles 2 car bombs

In an official statement, the National Guard announced the “thwarting of an attempt to detonate two booby-trapped vehicles,” saying they were loaded with highly explosive materials and equipped with remote-controlled detonation systems. The operation was carried out following monitoring operations and technical inspections, in cooperation with local residents.

The statement explained that “engineering units transported the two vehicles to a safe area, where the explosives disposal and dismantling unit dismantled them according to approved technical procedures before transferring the explosive materials to a secure and sealed storage facility, in order to prevent any risks to civilians.”

The statement did not identify the location where the two vehicles were detected or seized, nor did it reveal the ownership of the vehicles or the parties responsible for preparing them. It only described the incident as representing “a dangerous development in the criminal methods of the mountain’s enemies.”

The National Guard forces said the operation demonstrated “the readiness of its units to deal with security threats,” calling on citizens to report any suspicious vehicles or foreign objects, cooperate with checkpoints, and stressing that coordination between residents and security forces is a key element in maintaining the region’s security.

The forces also released images of the two vehicles along with the statement, showing that they appeared to be military vehicles.
