Sweida students protest demanding recognition of 2024, 2025 diplomas

On Thursday, dozens of students in Sweida city held a protest demanding official and international recognition of their 2024 and 2025 high school diplomas and the facilitation of their university admissions far from any political considerations.

Student Hala al-Halabi stated to ANHA agency, "We demand, on behalf of ourselves and all high school graduates, the recognition of our diplomas from the 2024 and 2025 sessions and the guarantee of our educational future," indicating "widespread concerns among students about their academic future."

Wael Naji Zein; a student from the 2025 session, said, "Our exams were postponed by a ministerial decree, and we were forced to do local exams due to the difficult circumstances," calling for "the recognition of our diplomas in any official form, free from political tensions."

Student Aws Salem, also from the 2024 and 2025 sessions, joined the demands, calling on international and humanitarian organizations to recognize their diplomas and ensure their academic fairness.

The protesters raised banners demanding the establishment of an internationally recognized database to facilitate their acceptance into foreign universities, stressing that "the future of our children is a responsibility that rests on your shoulders."
