Sweida marks July events with Choral Concert

The Juthoor Foundation organized a choral concert in Sweida today to commemorate the July events. The event drew a large audience, including musicians, intellectuals, victims' families, and people interested in cultural and humanitarian affairs.

Reham Al-Shaiban, the event organizer and supervisor, said the concert was part of a series of activities marking the anniversary of the July massacre. She noted that the choir's return after a five-year hiatus carried a message of loyalty and resilience, aiming to amplify the voices of the people of Sweida and all those who stood by them during years of hardship.

Dana Abu Fakhr, the foundation's media officer, said the musical performances were dedicated to honoring detainees and the missing, remembering the victims, and paying tribute to those stationed on the borders, reaffirming the values of loyalty and solidarity.

Ghanwa Abu Hassoun, one of the displaced attendees, said the choir expressed both pain and hope while reflecting aspirations for the return of the missing and detained and honoring the victims of the July events. She added that art is a humanitarian means of preserving collective memory and strengthening social solidarity.

The event attracted participants from various segments of society, with music intertwined with messages of remembrance, underscoring the importance of honoring the victims and preserving collective memory.
