Sit-in in Qamishlo to demand prisoners' release 

On Wednesday, Qamishlo city witnessed a sit-in organized by activists and members of civil society organizations, with the participation of families of prisoners held by the Syrian Interim Government.

The participants demanded the immediate release of the detained prisoners, emphasizing the necessity of implementing the provisions of the January 29th Agreement, particularly those related to the prisoners' file.

The sit-inners raised pictures of the prisoners and banners on which "No agreements are held at the expense of prisoners and martyrs," "Our prisoners are not a bargaining chip," "The freedom of prisoners is a non-negotiable right," "The voice of the prisoners will not be silenced," "We will not forget the prisoners, and we will not be silent" were written, along with slogans affirming the continuation of their cause until the release of the last prisoner.

The participants also slung black ribbons over their shoulders as a sign of mourning, indicating that their days are dark for the absence of the prisoners.

The protesters chanted slogans such as, "We want our prisoners," "Our souls are a sacrifice for our prisoners," "With our souls and our blood, we are with you, prisoners," and "Break the prison chains and release our prisoners." Furthermore, the mothers of the prisoners indicated that they are waiting for any news that will reassure them about the fate of their sons, stressing that every prisoner has a story that should not end in silence.
