Sit-in continues at Tishrin Dam for 9th consecutive day

The Tishrin Dam area has been under heavy attacks by the Turkish occupation forces and their mercenaries since December 8, 2024. In an effort to protect the dam from collapse and to stop the attacks, the people of North and East Syria headed toward the dam in convoys on January 8.

As the convoys approached Tishrin Dam, they were subjected to intense attacks by the Turkish occupation forces. On January 8, the Turkish occupation committed a massacre by targeting one of the convoys, resulting in the martyrdom of three civilians and the injury of 15 others. Again, on January 15, the Turkish forces targeted another convoy heading toward Tishrin Dam, leading to the martyrdom of one civilian and the injury of three others.

Upon arriving at Tishrin Dam on January 15, the Turkish occupation forces and their mercenaries carried out a massacre against the civilians stationed at the dam. They bombed the dam’s structure, where hundreds of civilians had gathered to protect it from attacks. As a result, three civilians were martyred, and dozens were injured.

Today, the people continued their sit-in at Tishrin Dam by organizing various activities.
