Abu al-Qadur is witnessing security tensions over disputes concerning agricultural land, as residents protest the seizure by local leaders of areas planted with cumin, lentils and olives without legal authorization.

According to local sources, Fadi al-Jassem, brother of Ministry of Defense commander Mohammad al-Jassem, known as “Abu Amsha,” encroached on agricultural land and set it on fire before tribal gunmen confronted him and drove him out of the area.

According to the sources, tribal gunmen confronted al-Jassem and expelled him from the area. He later returned at the head of a large military police force and forcibly stationed himself inside the village, prompting residents to demand an end to his alleged abuses.

The developments come amid a comprehensive security alert across the eastern and northern Hama countryside aimed at restoring order and preventing tribal and factional disputes from escalating.
