Security Forces thwart large-scale attack on International Coalition bases 

The Internal Security Forces said in a statement that "Our forces in the General Security Service and the HAT Special Forces carried out two precise security operations in the countryside of Hasaka city and the countryside of Çil Agha city, targeting dangerous terrorist gangs who were planning to carry out operations targeting the International Coalition bases in the region." 

The statement added: "After the investigations by the General Security Service, about the movements of terrorist elements, the General Security Service managed to obtain information about the preparation for large-scale targeting operations on the bases of the international coalition, and in a preemptive operation after midnight on Tuesday, August 20, the location of the group's leader was determined in the village of "Al-Mizar" in the countryside of Hasaka, our forces in the General Security Service and the Special Forces were able to arrest him."

The statement indicated that through combing and inspection operations: a quantity of weapons and ammunition was found, including locally-made 107 mm rockets in addition to their launch pads.

 The statement noted that the leader of group  confessed to the location of three elements working with him, and after inferring their location in the village of Al-Qasimiyah in the countryside of the city of Çil Agha, the Special Forces, in cooperation with the General Security Service, carried out a raid operation which led to arrest them and seize Kalashnikov weapons and military magazines, in addition to ammunition.
