Security forces launch investigation following attacks on returnees in Serê Kaniyê

On Tuesday, the Internal Security Forces in Hasakah province began investigating threats and attacks targeting residents of Serê Kaniyê who returned to the city on Monday. 

Displaced people from Serê Kaniyê who returned to the city as part of the first convoy were subjected to attacks, while the property of others was also targeted.

According to a private security source, the Internal Security Forces have begun taking statements from people who were threatened or attacked, while also gathering information about the circumstances of the incidents and identifying those responsible.

The source confirmed that the Internal Security Forces have also begun arresting people involved in attacking civilians inside the city, noting that those detained will be held legally accountable for posing a threat to the lives and safety of civilians.

The measures aim to stabilize the situation, hold those involved accountable and prevent similar attacks from recurring, while emphasizing the need to protect civilians and their property.
