Security Forces in Deir Hafar vow to maintain security amid ongoing attacks

The Internal Security Forces in Deir Hafar continue to perform their daily duties to protect residents and ensure their safety amid persistent threats from armed groups affiliated with the Syrian Interim Government.

In a statement to ANHA Agency, the Internal Security Forces administrative official in Deir Hafar, Mohammad Kobani, said: “The center was established eight months ago and has witnessed increasing public trust and participation. Each month, between 10 and 20 new members from the local community join the force, which strengthens cooperation and mutual confidence between us and the residents.”

Kobani added: “Our forces operate around the clock, enhancing security deployment across the city’s neighborhoods and markets through mobile and fixed checkpoints, as well as continuous patrols to protect civilians and prevent potential threats.”

Recalling the recent attacks, Kobani referred to the drone strike that targeted the Deir Hafar crossing and its surroundings on Sunday, the 5th of this month, which resulted in injuries to four ISF members performing their duties, in addition to one civilian casualty. He also mentioned another attack on the crossing on Friday night.

“These attacks will not deter us,” he affirmed. “Our injured fighters are in stable condition and receiving the necessary medical care. We will continue our efforts to maintain the security and stability of Deir Hafar and its countryside.”

It is worth noting that Deir Hafar and its surrounding areas have been subjected to multiple drone attacks. On the night of September 20–21, a massacre occurred in Um Al-Tina village, killing eight civilians and wounding four others. In Baberi village, drone strikes caused two civilian injuries, while the October 5th attacks injured one civilian, three Syrian Democratic Forces fighters, and four Internal Security members performing their duties.
