Second Conference of Cooperatives in North and East Syria kicks off

The activities of the Second Conference of Cooperatives in North and East Syria kicked off this morning, with the participation of 150 representatives, members of cooperatives across North and East Syria, in the Khabur Hall in the city of Hasaka.

In the conference hall, banners were hung that read: “Let us make our water, land, and energy a commune,” “Organizing cooperatives is a guarantee of achieving social justice,” and “Women are the source of the commune economy.”

According to the preparatory committee, a film will be presented about the work of cooperative societies, a speech by the Deputy Co-chair of the Executive Council of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria, Hassan Kojar, and a speech by the co-chair of the Department of Social Projects and Cooperatives, Muhammad Sabri, and then the directives of Leader Abdullah Ocalan will be read about the importance of cooperative societies, and the annual report on the work of cooperative societies.

Then the conference will be closed to the media, and according to the preparatory committee, the conference is scheduled to end with a set of outcomes.

There are 400 cooperative in NESyria distributed in the regions of “Raqqa, Tabqa, Shahba, the Euphrates Region, and the Jazeera Region” in NE Syria.
