Second aid convoy from NE Syria heads to coastal region

On Thursday, the second humanitarian aid convoy departed from the North and East Syria region to the coastal areas, departing from the city of Qamishli in the Jazira Canton. The convoy carried approximately 14,000 food and health baskets, as well as tons of flour.

The convoy arrived at the Tabqa crossing on Friday and continued its journey this morning toward the coast.

This initiative is part of the ongoing humanitarian efforts of the people of North and East Syria, the Kurdish Red Crescent, and the Democratic Autonomous Administration, which aim to provide support to those affected in various Syrian regions. It also responds to the urgent need to provide relief to civilians in the coastal region, who have suffered violations and massacres during clashes between militants and Damascus government forces.

The first aid convoy departed for the coastal region on March 17, sponsored by grassroots organizations in North and East Syria, with the participation of the Kurdish Red Crescent and the Democratic Autonomous Administration.

Between March 7 and 10, the Syrian coast witnessed painful events and massacres, claiming the lives of 1,676 people, according to documented statistics to date. Similar massacres continue to occur, according to eyewitnesses.
