SDF refutes Interior Ministry’s claims: Attackers not from Al-Hol Camp

The SDF’s Media Center stated that the claims by the Interior Ministry’s spokesperson, alleging that the suicide bomber who targeted the Mar Elias Church in Al-Duwailaa and another who attempted to attack other areas came from Al-Hol camp in NE Syria and were non-Syrians, are false and not based on facts or real events.

The statement noted that following these claims, the SDF’s relevant authorities began reviewing and investigating the records of Al-Hol camp residents and those who left it recently. It was confirmed that no one left the camp except for Syrians who departed to other parts of Syria at the request of the Damascus government, and Iraqis who were repatriated to Iraq under official Iraqi requests and transferred to Al-Jadaa camp.

Furthermore, the statement clarified that Al-Hol camp houses ISIS families, including Syrians and foreigners, mostly women and children, and does not shelter foreign terrorists. This refutes the Interior Ministry spokesperson’s claim that the two non-Syrian terrorists came from Al-Hol.

The SDF emphasized that they are the only Syrian force that fought ISIS, defeating them in Baghouz in 2019, and continue their joint operations with the International Coalition against terrorism. The SDF remains nationally and morally committed to this mission and is ready to expand it if necessary, in coordination with the Coalition.

The statement urged the Transitional Government in Syria to conduct transparent and accurate investigations and share the results with the public, as the only way to prevent the recurrence of such terrorist attacks.
