SDF refutes claims of Iranian drones,  foreign fighters

The SDF Media Center issued a statement addressing claims published by the interim government alleging that the SDF possesses Iranian-made drones and includes fighters from outside Syria within its ranks.

The statement emphasized that the goal of these allegations is to undermine the SDF, damage its reputation, and weaken its role, as part of desperate attempts to sabotage its relations with partners and international actors.

It stressed that the Syrian Democratic Forces are a national force, while established facts confirm the presence of thousands of foreign fighters within the ranks of factions affiliated with the Damascus authorities themselves.

The statement read: “The Damascus authorities continue to promote further systematic lies regarding our forces possessing Iranian drones or the presence of fighters from outside the borders within their ranks. These allegations come as part of a deliberate disinformation campaign carrying malicious messages and directed at specific international parties, in a clear attempt to tarnish the reputation of the Syrian Democratic Forces, undermine their role, and as part of desperate efforts to sabotage their relations with partners and international actors.

The Syrian Democratic Forces are a national force, composed of the sons and daughters of the Syrian people from all its components, while proven facts confirm the presence of thousands of foreign fighters of various nationalities, including Uzbeks and Chechens, within the ranks of factions affiliated with the Damascus authorities themselves.”
