SDF: Infiltration attempts of Turkish mercenaries foiled, casualties reported
The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) announced that their forces had thwarted several infiltration attempts by Turkish occupation mercenaries near Tishrin Dam, resulting in the death of more than 12 mercenaries and the injury of others.

The SDF's media center released a written statement today, Wednesday, regarding the ongoing attacks by the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries on the regions of North and East Syria. The statement read:
"The occupation and its mercenaries targeted villages in the Tishrin Dam and Qereqozaqê countryside, and our forces responded with effective operations, inflicting casualties among them."
Tishrin Dam Front: On Tuesday, the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries continued to shell the surroundings of the dam and villages in the southeastern countryside of Manbij with heavy artillery, causing significant material damage. Meanwhile, Turkish drones continued to fly over the area continuously.
At 12:30 PM yesterday, our forces repelled an attack by the mercenaries on our military positions. Fighters from the Women's Protection Units (YPJ) responded to the attack and launched a counteroffensive, leading to intense clashes that resulted in casualties among the mercenaries, although the exact number remains unknown. Our fighters pursued the mercenaries from three different axes, reaching several of their military positions and destroying them completely, forcing the mercenaries to flee.
The mercenaries attempted another attack from the "Syriatel" hill axis but were also repelled by our fighters. This led to further clashes, resulting in several casualties among the mercenaries. Seven mercenaries were confirmed killed, while the rest fled the battlefield. Our fighters then began dismantling mines planted by the mercenaries in the area. As a result of the counteroffensive, an entire group of mercenaries was killed, while another group lost communication with their comrades and was left in a state of confusion and fear under the fire of our fighters, unable to evade their strikes.
According to the initial toll of the counteroffensive against the occupation and its mercenaries' attacks, at least 12 mercenaries were confirmed killed or wounded, though the actual number is likely higher. Several military positions used by the mercenaries for launching attacks were also destroyed.
Qereqozaqê Front: The Turkish occupation and its mercenaries shelled the villages of Al-Tina, Jada, Bir Hassou, Ghasaq, Daykan, Malha, and Al-Sun'a, as well as the Sirrin junction and the hills of Sifi and Qereqozaqê, using heavy artillery, tanks, rocket launchers, and mortars. Over 40 shells were fired, causing significant material damage to civilian homes and properties.
In response to the shelling by the occupation and its mercenaries, our forces carried out an operation targeting the Turkish occupation’s bases and fortifications west of the Qereqozaqê bridge. The extent of the damage inflicted remains unknown.
Meanwhile, Turkish warplanes and drones continued to fly over Kobani, Ain Issa, and their countryside throughout the day yesterday.
The SDF’s counteroffensive was conducted within the framework of self-defense, coinciding with the seventh anniversary of the occupation of Afrin, and as a response to the massacre committed by the Turkish occupation’s air force in the village of Barkh Botan south of Kobani.
