SDF denies attacking checkpoint near Deir Hafir

The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) categorically denied allegations made by the “Media and Communications Administration of the Ministry of Defense of the Transitional Government” regarding the targeting of a military police checkpoint near Deir Hafir, east of Aleppo.

The SDF Media Center issued a statement today rejecting the claims by the Ministry of Defense of the transitional government about an alleged attack on a “military police” checkpoint. The statement said:

“The Syrian Democratic Forces categorically deny the allegations contained in the statement issued by the so-called Media and Communications Administration of the Ministry of Defense on the targeting of a military police checkpoint near the town of Deir Hafir, east of Aleppo.

Our forces affirm that there have been absolutely no activities, movements, or military operations by the Syrian Democratic Forces in that area today. These claims are entirely fabricated and suspicious, aimed at creating pretexts and justifying an unjustified escalation. We hold the party that issued the statement fully responsible for its consequences.

The Syrian Democratic Forces remain committed to restraint.”
