SDF: Damascus Govt. factions shelled residential areas near Tishreen Dam

The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) have revealed a new violation of the ceasefire agreement by factions affiliated with Syria’s transitional government, after shelling targeted the vicinity of residential areas near Tishreen Dam on Monday afternoon.

The Media Center of the Syrian Democratic Forces issued a statement today disclosing a new breach of the ceasefire agreement by factions affiliated with the transitional government in Syria, in the area of Tishreen Dam.

The statement said:
“At exactly 4:00 p.m. today, factions affiliated with the Damascus government targeted the residential surroundings of Tishreen Dam with artillery and heavy weapons, resulting in the injury of three of our fighters.”

The statement added that factions affiliated with the transitional government repeatedly violate the ceasefire agreement in several areas across the North and East Syria region. Meanwhile, the Syrian Democratic Forces exercise their right to self-defense and legitimate response to such violations, with the aim of maintaining security and stability in the region and preventing the situation from escalating further.
