SDF captures 4 ISIS mercenaries in Deir ez-Zor countryside

The Syrian Democratic Forces arrested 4 mercenaries from an ISIS cell who were active in smuggling mercenaries, supplying them with weapons, and preparing explosive devices.

SDF's Media Center indicated that the Anti-Terrorism Units, in cooperation with the Globla Coalition Forces, carried out two precise security operations yesterday, Monday, October 16, against ISIS cells in the town of “al-Shuhail” in the southern countryside of Deir ez-Zor.

The Media Center confirmed that “during the two operations, the units were able to arrest four members of the targeted cell, as its members were active in smuggling and supplying the terrorist organization ISIS with weapons and ammunition and preparing explosive devices to carry out terrorist operations targeting our forces and civilian institutions, and trying to destabilize the security and stability of the region.” .

During the two operations, the units confiscated several weapons and military equipment that were in the possession of the mercenaries, as follows:

1 - Kalashnikov weapon number /1/.

2 - Hand grenades /2/.

3 - Explosive devices number /1/.

4 – Smartphones /8/.

5 - Ordinary phones number /1/.

6 - Internet devices “router” number /2/.

7 - Identification and personal documents.

8 – A number of military equipment.
