SDF: 2 Turkish soldiers, 17 mercenaries killed in new actions

Two Turkish occupation soldiers and 17 mercenaries were killed in a series of operations carried out by the Syrian Democratic Forces within the framework of the legitimate right of response against the Turkish attacks on NE Syria.

SDF's Media Center issued a statement to public opinion, confirming the killing of two Turkish soldiers and 17 mercenaries.

The statement read:

“Within the framework of its right to legitimately respond to the attacks and assaults of the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries on our regions, the Syrian Democratic Forces, carried out a series of military operations, targeting bases of the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries in various regions.

On January 15, at exactly 22:30, the forces of the Manbij Military Council carried out an operation targeting a point of the Turkish occupation mercenaries in the village of “Al-Sayyada” near the village of “Shaheb,” resulting in the killing of 4 mercenaries.

On January 17, our forces carried out an operation with heavy weapons targeting a checkpoint and a Turkish occupation base in the village of “Sharkrak” northeast of the town.

On the same day, our forces carried out two simultaneous operations with heavy weapons against a base for the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries in the village of “Tina” and a farm in the village of “Mu’allaq,” south of the town of “Tal Abyad.”

Casualties were reported among the occupation soldiers and mercenaries.

On the same day, our forces also carried out an infiltration operation into a Turkish occupation base in the village of “Al-Salibi”, west of the city of “Tal Abyad”, where it was targeted with medium weapons, and violent clashes broke out between our forces and the Turkish occupation forces and its mercenaries.

The four operations carried out by our forces resulted in the killing of 13 Turkish occupation mercenaries and two Turkish occupation soldiers.

The outcome of our forces’ operations against the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries was as follows:

1 - Number of operations by our forces against the Turkish occupation: /8/ operations.

2 - Number of deaths among the occupation mercenaries: /17/ mercenaries.

3 - Number of deaths among the occupation: two Turkish soldiers.”
