The Syrian Democratic Council (SDC) praised US President Donald Trump's decision to lift the sanctions imposed on Syria, considering this step as a positive sign that will alleviate the suffering that Syrians have endured during the years of war, siege and economic pressures.
In a statement, the council emphasized that this decision enhances the chances of a political solution that guarantees the unity of Syria and the safety of its people with all its components.
The statement added: "The Syrian Democratic Council expresses its deep appreciation for the decision of His Excellency the President of the United States of America, Mr. Donald Trump, to suspend the sanctions imposed on Syria, as this decision carries positive indicators that directly benefit the Syrian people."
