SDC: We call on political, national forces to condemn the criminal acts of the Damascus authority

The forces of the Damascus government and the so-called "National Defense", affiliated with it, launched indiscriminate shelling on cities and towns in the eastern countryside of Deir-ez-Zor canton, which resulted in the martyrdom of civilians and the injury of 7 others, including two children. The forces of the Deir-ez-Zor Military Council, which is under the banner of the Syrian Democratic Forces and the Internal Security Forces, also confronted the infiltration of groups of cells of the Damascus forces.

The Syrian Democratic Council, in response to the attacks, issued a statement condemning the attacks, holding the Damascus government fully responsible for these actions, and warning it of the development of the security situation there. The statement read:

"Yesterday, Tuesday, August 6, 2024, the towns and villages of Deir-ez-Zor in the eastern Euphrates were subjected to a treacherous and cowardly attack by the forces of the Damascus Authority and the remnants associated with it and with external forces, killing many innocent civilians and seriously wounding others.

The Syrian Democratic Council condemns and denounces in the strongest terms these criminal and brutal attacks and holds the Damascus Authority fully responsible for these acts, and warns it of the development of the security situation there.

The Council commends the heroic role of the Syrian Democratic Forces and the Internal Security Forces, who confronted these barbaric attacks and preserved the security and stability of the region, and extends its warmest words of condolence to the families of the martyrs who lost their lives, and wishes a speedy recovery to the wounded and injured.

The Council calls on all political and national forces to condemn the criminal acts of the Damascus Authority and its apparatuses that contribute to strengthening the capabilities of the terrorist organization "ISIS" and intensifying its activity, and undermine efforts to combat terrorism.

The hand of justice will one day reach all those responsible for the criminal and terrorist attacks that claimed the lives of innocent Syrians, and will hold them accountable for their heinous and brutal acts that they committed against the peaceful people of their country.
