SDC delegation visited Afrin displaced, stressed right to safe return to their homes

The Syrian Democratic Council continues its visits to displaced persons from areas occupied by Turkey and its mercenaries, who are residing in Hasaka city of Jazira canton. After visiting the displaced persons from the occupied city of Serê Kaniyê in camps on Wednesday, a delegation from the Council visited on Thursday the youth housing in al-Nashwa neighborhood, which is inhabited by displaced persons from Afrin and al-Shahba cantons.

The delegation included the co-chair of the Syrian Democratic Council, Mahmoud al-Muslat, and the member of the Secretariat Office, Aziz Suleiman, along with members of the Council's Relations Office, Avin Mohamed and Berivan Ali.

During the meeting, the delegation discussed with the residents their conditions inside the housing and their needs, as well as the issue of a safe return to their lands and homes.

The co-chair of the Syrian Democratic Council, Mahmoud al-Muslat, confirmed that the natural place for the displaced is within their lands and homes, noting that seeing the residents living in camps and schools is painful.

He added, "We are not seeking temporary emergency solutions. Rather, we are working for your safe return as soon as possible. The United Nations and international institutions have a duty to ensure this return without obstacles."

During the meeting, the residents demanded the safe return to their lands before the end of the year, and the provision of basic services and necessities, especially with the approach of winter. The Syrian Democratic Council emphasized the need to provide all the needs of the displaced in light of the harsh conditions they are experiencing.

This visit comes within the framework of the Syrian Democratic Council's monitoring the conditions of the displaced in the camps, and conveying their voice to international forums in order to demand putting an end to their suffering and ensuring their return to their areas.
