SDC confirms continuation of its political struggle

This morning, the Media Office of the SDC published a written statement about the targeting of the council’s office in the city of Qamishlo in Jazera Canton in the NE Syria, which occurred last night.

At the beginning of the statement, the Council revealed the nature of the targeting that its center in Qamishli was subjected to, “Our center in the city of Qamishli was exposed on the night of February 26, to a terrorist attack by unknown persons who threw an explosive device inside the wall of the building, and the damage was limited to the material aspect, and the Internal Security Forces are investigating the attack and tracking down the perpetrators.”

The Council condemned the targeting, and referred to the parties behind the targeting, “We condemn this attack in the strongest terms, and we affirm that the parties behind this attack aim to undermine our national positions of promoting dialogue at the internal level in order to achieve a democratic transition in the country.”

The Council affirmed the continuation of its efforts to achieve political stability. “We assure public opinion that any attack will not deter us from continuing our efforts to achieve the goals we believe in, and we will continue our struggle until the political stability that the Syrians envision is achieved.”
