Saudi Arabia supports agreement between Interim government and SDF

The Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed today the Kingdom’s welcome of the statement issued regarding the ceasefire agreement between the Syrian interim government and the Syrian Democratic Forces, under a comprehensive agreement that includes the integration of the Autonomous Administration’s institutions into the institutions of the Syrian state.

In a statement, the ministry said: “The Kingdom hopes that this comprehensive agreement will contribute to supporting Syria’s path toward peace, security, and stability in a way that fulfills the aspirations of the brotherly Syrian people and strengthens national unity. It renews its full support for all efforts made by the Syrian government to preserve the sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity of Syria.”

The statement added that the Kingdom “appreciates the responsiveness of the Syrian government and the Syrian Democratic Forces to the Kingdom’s mediation efforts, as well as the efforts made by the United States of America in consolidating the ceasefire and reaching this agreement.”
