On April 5, sources from the Afrin–al-Shahba Displaced Persons Council told ANHA agency that the third group of displaced individuals, consisting of 200 families, was set to return to their homes next Wednesday (April 8).

However, the latest information we have received indicates that the convoy’s return has been delayed, with the possibility that it may depart next Thursday, though this has not yet been confirmed.

The safe return of displaced persons is considered one of the key points in the January 29 agreement concluded between the Syrian Democratic Forces and the Syrian Interim Government. So far, two groups of displaced Afrin residents have returned to their homes: the first on March 9, 2026, which included 400 families, and the second on April 4, 2026, which included 200 families.
