residents of Tirbespiyê: SDF led region’s peoples from genocide to freedom

August 25 saw the announcement from the General Commander of the Syrian Democratic Forces, Mazloum Abdi, the end of the military mission of the SDF's, their integration in the Syrian state, and the start of a new phase.

The citizens of Tirbespiyê talked to ANHA's agency about the issue, stating that the resistance of the Syrian Democratic Forces since their foundation until the completion of their mission helped protect the region from many attacks on the annihilation of the peoples there.

Hussein Khaled pointed to the passage of 15 years since the Rojava Revolution, adding that when the revolution began, there was a need for a force representing all components. Accordingly, a force was established to protect and defend the rights of the various peoples.

Hussein added that the Syrian Democratic Forces brought together different components, including Kurds, Arabs, and Syriacs, and played a major role in protecting the peoples, saving them from genocide, and leading them toward freedom.

He noted that the areas affected by the revolution were subjected to multiple attacks by ISIS/ Daesh mercenaries and others, while male and female fighters of the Syrian Democratic Forces undertook the task of protecting the people and made sacrifices for the sake of the freedom of society.

In the same context, Hussein Khaled stressed that a heavy price had been paid for freedom, saying: “We will never forget in any way the struggle waged by the SDF fighters, and it will always remain alive.”

Khaled concluded his remarks by saying: “Securing the rights of the Kurdish people in the new Syria and protecting Kurdish identity is considered a success, and it is the result of the efforts and sacrifices made by thousands of our martyrs and fighters. We hope that all components will have their place in building the new Syria.”

For her part, Hediya Shamo said: “We remember all the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the sake of all the components. The Syrian Democratic Forces played a strong role in liberating many areas.”

Hediya Shamo explained that guaranteeing and enshrining Kurdish rights in the Syrian Constitution is a very important step and that efforts to achieve this must continue, in a way that enables all components to obtain their rights in Syria.

In conclusion, Hediya Shamo called on the people of the region to preserve the achievements of the martyrs and protect their identity and culture.
