Residents of Tel Aran complain of worsening sewage crisis

The town of Tel Aran in the eastern Aleppo countryside is experiencing growing concerns about a worsening sewage crisis due to blocked networks in several residential areas, coupled with the lack of response from the interim government's service providers to residents' repeated demands.

The residents of Tal Aran town in the eastern Aleppo countryside are suffering from a worsening crisis caused by the blockage of sewage lines in several areas.

Several residents of the town sent videos to ANHA agency showing sewage overflowing into the streets, coinciding with rising temperatures and the arrival of summer.

A local source from the town stated that the problem has been ongoing for a long time, noting that foul odors have become widespread throughout the town, raising concerns about health and environmental consequences, especially for children and the elderly.

The source added that the accumulation of sewage in front of homes and on roads obstructs residents' movement and increases the likelihood of insect infestations and disease outbreaks, demanding a swift and permanent solution to the problem.

Despite residents submitting dozens of complaints to service providers, primarily the Al-Safira Municipality, to address the blockages and carry out necessary maintenance on the sewage network, these demands have yet to receive a response.
