In this context, the residents of Garkê Legê affirmed that the leader’s freedom represents the freedom of all peoples.

Farid Hamo called for the physical freedom of leader Abdullah Ocalan, noting that the peace initiatives he launched, such as the most recent peace and democratic society process on 27 February 2025, represent an opportunity for all peoples to live safely. He added: “But Turkey has not yet taken serious steps. Releasing the leader would be the first step toward achieving security and peace.”

Meanwhile, Sakina Abu Zaid emphasized that the leader’s freedom is essential for continuing the peace and democratic society process, describing it as a gateway to a shared future.

Zakia Barakat stressed that the isolation imposed on the leader constitutes a crime against humanity, noting that his philosophy serves all oppressed peoples, especially the Kurdish people, and called on international institutions to intervene for his release.

Fatima Omar said the leader strives for peace, and Turkey’s delay in taking serious steps, such as ensuring his physical freedom, represents a neglect of the positive path the leader has initiated. She concluded by affirming the necessity of continuing to demand the physical freedom of leader Ocalan, as his freedom signifies the freedom of all peoples.
