Residents of NE Syria and Aleppo begin Eid al-Fitr by visiting shrines of martyrs
In a tradition that reflects loyalty and gratitude since the beginning of the revolution, the people of North and East Syria and Aleppo began the first hours of Eid al-Fitr by visiting the shrines of martyrs, expressing their appreciation for the sacrifices of those who gave their lives for freedom, security, and stability in the region.
With the early hours of the first day of Eid al-Fitr, residents of North and East Syria and Aleppo flocked to the martyrs' shrines in various cities and towns.
Visiting the martyrs' shrines on Eid morning has become an annual tradition since the outbreak of the July 19, 2012 revolution. It carries within it meanings of loyalty and appreciation. The families and relatives of the martyrs view Eid as an occasion to remember those who made life possible with their dignity and blood, and to affirm their commitment to following in the footsteps of the martyrs.
At the martyrs' shrines, families of the martyrs and commanders of the military and security forces greeted the residents, exchanging congratulations and blessings.
The residents also exchanged greetings amidst feelings of appreciation and pride in the memory of the martyrs, emphasizing that loyalty to their sacrifices continues not only on special occasions, but also in the ongoing effort to preserve the values for which they were martyred.
