A delegation from the People's Equality and Democracy Party traveled to Imrali this morning to meet with leader Abdullah Ocalan. The delegation included the party’s co-chairs, Tülay Hatimoğulları and Tuncer Bakırhan, along with party MP Sırrı Süreyya Önder, MPs Pervin Buldan and Cengiz Çiçek, Ahmet Türk, the mayor of Mardin, and Faik Özgür Erol, a lawyer from the Asrın Law Office.

After the meeting, the delegation returned to Istanbul to hold a press conference at the Elit World Hotel, where they announced Abdullah Öcalan’s message.

In addition to the delegation members, many MPs from the People's Equality and Democracy Party, as well as directors and members of civil society organizations, attended the press conference.

The statement, followed by 300 journalists, was read by Ahmet Türk in Kurdish and Pervin Buldan in Turkish.
