The city of Qamishlo witnessed a sit-in protest today, in which dozens of residents gathered at Martyr Robar Roundabout (Youth City), in objection to the surge in prices, electricity cuts, and worsening economic conditions.

The protesters carried banners demanding the provision of basic services and a reduction in the prices of food and fuel. They stressed that living conditions have become “unbearable” and are directly affecting families’ lives.

The protesters later marched through the city’s streets toward the market, while organizers announced their intention to continue daily protest actions until their demands are met.
