The families of detainees gathered in Martyrs' Square in the city of Qamishlo to demand the release of their children who were captured last January.

The families of detainees held by the Syrian Interim Government organized a protest in Martyrs' Square in Qamishlo, calling for the release of their relatives who were captured in January.

Participants carried photographs of their detained family members and banners reading, "We stand with you, heroic detainees" and "Your steadfastness is our strength, and your freedom is our cause." They called for information about their fate and demanded their release, while chanting slogans supporting the detainees and praising their resilience.

Under the provisions of the January 29 agreement, the first group of detainees was released on March 10, 2026, followed by a second group on March 19, a third on April 11, a fourth on May 8, and a fifth on May 25. On June 1, 28 female fighters from the Women's Protection Units (YPJ) were also released.
