Protests continue in Hasakah against removal of Kurdish Language

A protest was held today in Hasakah in front of the Palace of Justice, condemning the removal of the Kurdish language from the building's signage. The protest saw wide participation from residents of all ages, who chanted slogans affirming their commitment to their language and cultural identity.

The protest featured a folkloric and traditional atmosphere, with musical groups performing songs and pieces in Kurdish. Participants sang traditional songs and performed folk dances, expressing their rejection of the erasure of the Kurdish language from official institutions.

Many mothers emphasized during the protest that the Kurdish language represents their identity and dignity, stressing that they cannot abandon it after years of struggle to preserve it.
