On the 54th day of the Tishrin Dam resistance, the protesters woke up early to eat suhoor and welcome the first day of Ramadan. They coordinated with the communes (local councils) to prepare suhoor meals, which were distributed late at night.

Speaking to ANHA agency, Basmahan Naasan, one of the participants in the resistance, explained that she had come from the city of Kobani four days ago to take part in the protest. She said: "Despite the difficulties we face, we woke up to have our suhoor on the first day of Ramadan, reaffirming our determination to continue the struggle."

Basmahan concluded by stating that she would fast throughout the holy month and continue her resistance until victory or martyrdom.

Meanwhile, protester Haji Mohammed spoke about the collective preparations for Ramadan, expressing his feelings: "The people of North and East Syria are participating in the Tishrin Dam resistance, from the Euphrates Canton to the Jazera Canton, in support of the Syrian Democratic Forces in their fight against Turkish aggression. On this occasion, I extend my congratulations to all Muslims on the arrival of Ramadan, praying for peace and stability in our region."

Since January 8, the people of North and East Syria have been heading to Tishrin Dam to protest against the ongoing attacks carried out by the Turkish army and its mercenaries in the region.
