Christian clergy, alongside civil activists, participated in the protest, carrying crosses and banners condemning the series of crimes targeting Christians in Syria—from Wadi al-Nasara to the bombing of St. Elias Church in Damascus last July.

The march set out from al-Huwash toward Wadi al-Nasara under the slogan: “We would rather die than accept humiliation… Christian blood is precious.”

The incident left two young men, George Mansour and Shafiq Rafiq Mansour, dead, while Pierre Hreikos sustained critical injuries after armed men linked to the Transitional Government opened fire in front of the village headman’s office in Anaz.

The crime has provoked widespread public outrage, sparking a general strike in protest against the repeated violations and crimes committed against members of the Christian community in these regions.
