The families of the detainees held by the interim government organized a protest today at Martyrs' Square in the city of Qamishlo, demanding the immediate release of their children and the revelation of their fate.

The participants in the vigil raised pictures of their imprisoned sons and banners demanding freedom for the prisoners and revealing their fate. They chanted "We want our prisoners," "Long live the resistance of the prisoners," and "Freedom for the prisoners," turning the protest vigil into a demonstration that marched thru the city's streets.

The January 29 agreement between the Syrian Democratic Forces and the Syrian Interim Government stipulates the exchange of prisoners between the two parties in successive phases. Four batches of prisoners were released: the first on March 10, the second on March 19, the third on April 11, and the fourth on May 8, during which 1,032 prisoners held by the Syrian Interim Government were released.
