TISHRIN DAM

Since January 8, the people of North and East Syria, from various communities, have been protesting at Tishrin Dam to protect it from the bombardment of the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries, who have been launching violent attacks using warplanes, drones, artillery, and missiles since December 8, 2024. They are also protesting to prevent the dam from collapsing.

The protesters have sacrificed their lives to protect the dam, as the Turkish occupation army and its mercenaries have targeted the protest site, leading to the martyrdom of 24 protesters and injuring more than 200 others.

Today, the protest at the dam has entered its 34th day, with high morale among young and elderly participants, despite the severe cold and ongoing bombardment around the dam by Turkish warplanes, drones, and heavy weapons.

Dozens of residents from the cities of Hasaka, Tal Tamr, Darbasiyah, Tal Brak, and Al-Shaddadi headed to the dam today to join the popular protests there, replacing the people of Kobani and its countryside, who have been at the dam for the past six days.
