Preparations underway for celebrations marking 14th anniversary of July 19 Revolution

As the 14th anniversary of the July 19, 2012 Revolution approaches, a preparatory committee convened on Thursday to discuss arrangements for commemorating the occasion.

The committee comprises representatives of the Democratic Union Party (PYD), the Martyrs' Families Council, the People's Municipality of Qamishlo, administrators of district councils, Kurdish language teachers, the Internal Security Forces, the Syrian Revolutionary Youth Movement, and the Culture and Art Movement.

The meeting was held at the Democratic Union Party's office in the Arbawiyah neighborhood of Qamishlo city.

According to the committee, a series of celebratory events will be held this year at six venues across the Jazira region: Qamishlo, Dêrik, Girkê Legê, Hasakah, Derbasiyah, and Tell Tamer. All events are scheduled to begin at 7:00 p.m. on July 19.

The celebrations will feature political and cultural speeches, the reading of messages, as well as artistic and cultural performances. Dance and music groups representing the region's diverse communities will perform in their respective languages, alongside artists arriving from outside Rojava to present a variety of performances.

Speaking to ANHA agency, Sherin Dawood, a member of the preparatory committee for the July 19 Revolution anniversary events, said that this year's celebrations will be held under a unified slogan for Rojava, which will be announced at a later date.

She added: "This year, our messages will focus on the need to build a democratic, decentralized Syria where all its people can live together in freedom."

Dawood also called on all members of the public to assume their responsibility toward this historic occasion and preserve its significance. She urged everyone to contribute to safeguarding the achievements secured through the sacrifices of the martyrs and to send a message to the world that reaching this stage has been made possible thanks to the July 19 Revolution.
