Politicians, dignitaries urge immediate cessation of Turkish occupation attacks

The Turkish occupation and its allied gangs continue their daily bombardment of NE Syria, causing significant destruction to infrastructure and civilian casualties. Activists warn that the Turkish attacks are deliberately targeting critical sites such as the Tishrin Dam, seeking to undermine the Autonomous Administration’s democratic project.

Azhar Ahmed, the member of the Kurdish Left Party in Syria, stated: "Turkey’s attacks are designed to dismantle the region’s infrastructure and derail the Autonomous Administration project. These brutal assaults amount to war crimes, with the clear intent of displacing local populations in areas like Kobani, Ain Issa, and the Tishrin Dam."

Ahmed further asserted that Turkey’s military campaign aligns with its nationalist agenda, particularly its pursuit of the "Misak-ı Millî" (National Pact) policy, which aims to expand Turkish influence into Syrian territory. He called on all communities in the region to "defend their achievements and uphold the principles of peoples’ fraternity."

Similarly, Sheikh Abdullah Talah of the Al-Muhays tribe denounced the Turkish occupation’s attacks, declaring:

"As tribal leaders of this region, we stand with the Syrian Democratic Forces, reject the Turkish occupation, and demand an end to these hostilities to ensure stability in Syria."

Aziz Ahmedo, a central committee member of the Kurdish Left Party in Syria, also condemned the Turkish strikes on the Martyrs’ Dam, stressing: "We reaffirm our support for the Syrian Democratic Forces and strongly oppose Turkey’s aggressive actions, which seek to undermine the progress achieved in NE Syria and sabotage regional unity."

Ahmedo warned that Turkey’s broader objective is to reassert control over Syrian territory in line with its strategic ambitions. He called for "the protection of all components’ rights within Syria’s future constitutional framework."

These statements come as Turkey continues its military operations in NE Syria, prompting growing international condemnation. Human rights organizations have described Turkey’s actions as "war crimes," citing the targeting of civilians and the destruction of essential infrastructure.
