Perpetrators of Paris massacres must be held accountable

Women leaders in the twenty-first century urged victory in the face of the policies of genocide and assimilation pursued against women. Among these leaders is Evîn Goyî  the pioneer in the Women’s Freedom Movement and the member of the leadership body of the Kurdistan Communities Union, who was assassinated on December 23 of the year 2022, at the Ahmed Kaya Kurdish Cultural Association in the French capital, Paris, with the artist Mîr Perwer and the patriot Abdurrahman Kizi.

Who is Evîn Goyî

She was born in 1977 in Hilal village, Qalaban district, in the Bhutan region of northern Kurdistan. She introduced to the freedom movement since childhood and became attached to the history of the Kurdish people and their cause. She fought in many regions, such as Bhutan, and took upon herself the responsibility of developing and organizing women's militancy, thus becoming one of the first women to assume leadership duties.

In NE Syria, she struggled against ISIS attacks in 2014, and she was not satisfied with that, but worked to organize the people and establish communes and councils until she was known in the region for her humility and spirit.

She was injured in one of the battles against ISIS mercenaries, which forced her to go to Europe to receive treatment, and there she demanded that the perpetrators of the first Paris massacre, which was committed on January 9, 2013, be held accountable, the massacre was committed against the founders of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party, Sakîna Cansiz (Sara), and the representative of the Kurdistan National Congress, Fîdan Dogan (Rojbîn), and the member of the Kurdish Youth Movement, Leyla Şaylemez (Ronahî).

The martyrdom of pioneer Evîn Goyî generated great popular discontent and demands to hold the perpetrators of the massacre accountable. After the French authorities released the perpetrator of the massacre, the people of NE Syria considered their release a new complicity to repeat other massacres.

Citizen Munawar Khaled from the Amuda in NE Syria, who met and worked with the Evîn Goyî, explained that the first Paris massacre was covered up and was not revealed for ten years. Therefore, the second Paris massacre was committed, and today not holding the accomplices accountable is negligence in repeating the same scenario. She added: “Everyone knows that the Turkish regime and its fascist intelligence are responsible for committing these two massacres.” Munawar considered the assassination of pioneering women a target for the truth of the free woman and said, " We derived strength and morale from her smile and her presence among us.”

Regarding the personality of the martyr Evîn Goyî, the citizen and member of Kongra Star in Qamishlo, Shah Khalil pointed out that the martyr “ She participated in the revolution, and we gained from her the knowledge and strength, she was a Kurdish woman who fought for all women."

In conclusion, she pledged to follow the path of the martyr Avin to achieve victory for the women’s revolution and protect the gains of the revolution in NE Syria.

Worth to note that all evidence confirms that the Turkish regime is the mastermind of the assassination of female activists.
