People of Jazera Canton protest against Turkish occupation, its mercenaries

To denounce the attacks of the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries, as well as the schemes targeting the regions of North and East Syria and Aleppo, the people of Jazera Canton held separate demonstrations.

Qamishlo

Hundreds of residents from the city of Qamishlo participated in a march condemning the attacks of the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries on Aleppo and the regions of North and East Syria. The march was held under the slogan, "With the Spirit of Revolutionary People, We Will Defeat the Occupation."

The march started from Sony Roundabout in central Qamishlo, with participants holding banners reading: "SDF is Our Will and Dignity," "SDF is the Lifeboat of North and East Syria," "Resistance is Life," and "The Syrian Democratic Forces Come from the People, and the People Are Here." Another banner declared, "The Land of North and East Syria Will Become Erdogan's Graveyard."

The march moved through Qamishlo’s market while participants chanted slogans such as, "Long Live the Resistance of Rojava," "Long Live the Resistance of Sheikh Maqsoud," and "Long Live the Resistance of the People's and Women's Protection Units; Resistance is Life."

When the march reached Martyr Rubar Roundabout, participants observed a moment of silence. Yusuf Kuti, a member of the People's Initiative for the Freedom of Leader Abdullah Ocalan, delivered a speech in which he said:

"The regions of North and East Syria are facing vile and violent attacks, carried out through the mercenaries of Hay'at Tahrir al-Sham, formerly known as Jabhat al-Nusra, who were defeated in the past in Serê Kaniyê, Tal Brak, and Tal Hamis."

He continued: "Today, with the support of the head of the Turkish occupation state, these forces have redirected their aggression towards Aleppo, Idlib, Hama, and the regions of North and East Syria."

Kuti explained, "Our people in Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafieh are under siege, and those in Shahba and Tal Rifaat are enduring difficult times amid attacks by the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries."

He questioned: "What are countries like the United States, Russia, and 74 other nations doing in Syria? We must prepare, young and old, to take up arms and fight. We have no one but ourselves, and these attacks not only threaten the Kurdish people but endanger all of Syria."

Kuti warned of the Turkish occupation's plans in Syria, stating:

"Russia has paved the way for Turkey to implement the 'Misak-ı Millî' (National Pact) map, which Turkey seeks to impose in order to dominate regions from Aleppo to Mosul."

He called on the people of North and East Syria to unite around the Syrian Democratic Forces, stressing:

"We will have no ally but our will."

Derik

In the city of Derik, residents also staged a demonstration condemning these attacks. The march began at Freedom Square, with participants carrying banners that read:

"We Will Resist Any Agreement Targeting Our Existence, Dignity, and Identity" and

"We Triumphed Through Martyrs; With the Spirit of the Martyrs of the Dignity Resistance, We Will Resist and Defeat the Occupation."

Upon reaching the city center, participants observed a moment of silence, after which Co-chair of the People's Municipality in Derik, Jowan Hassan, stated:

"We will not succumb to the dirty international schemes. Therefore, we must strengthen our organization and escalate resistance and struggle against the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries."

Amuda

The city of Amuda also witnessed a demonstration where hundreds of residents protested against the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries’ attacks on the regions of North and East Syria.

The march, which began at the Free Woman Square in central Amuda, featured participants holding pictures of Leader Abdullah Ocalan and children injured in Turkish attacks. They also carried banners with slogans such as:

"With the Spirit of the Revolutionary People, We Will Defeat the Occupation" and "We Condemn and Denounce Occupation, Looting, Geographic Changes, and Ethnic Cleansing in Afrin."

Upon reaching Martyr Jihad Square, the marchers paused for a moment of silence to honor the martyrs.

During the protest, a member of the People’s Initiative in Amuda, Morra Zoro, declared:

"We are ready to do whatever is necessary for the people of Shahba and Afrin who were forcibly displaced from their homes and lands."

She urged all residents to remain active in the public squares, opposing schemes aimed at occupying all regions of the area.
