Pentagon comments on Iraqi Hezbollah cessation of its ops against US army
The US Department of Defense commented on the statement of the Iraqi "Hezbollah Brigades" in which it announced the suspension of its attacks on US forces in the region.
US Department of Defense spokesman Patrick Ryder said that the Pentagon is aware of the statement of the Iraqi "Hezbollah Brigades," indicating "Actions speak louder than words."
"We've seen those reports," Ryder added. "I don't have a specific comment other than that actions speak louder than words."
He explained: “When I say that actions speak louder than words, I mean that 3 other attacks have already been launched on American forces in the region since a drone attack occurred on January 28, on a base in Jordan.”
Iraqi Hezbollah Brigades announced on Tuesday evening the suspension of its operations against US forces to "avoid embarrassing the Iraqi government,"
It is noteworthy that the Central Command of the US Armed Forces (CENTCOM) announced on January 28 that a base hosting American soldiers, on the border between Jordan and Syria was attacked by a drone.
Washington accuses groups linked to Iran for the attack on the military base and confirmed that it would respond, while Tehran denied the responsibility.
