The Pakistani army said it killed 20 Pakistani Taliban militants in raids on the border with Afghanistan.

These developments come amid official silence by the Afghan authorities affiliated with the Taliban so far.

There was a wave of military escalation between Pakistan and the Taliban forces a month ago, when the Pakistani army announced at the time the killing of at least 30 Afghan forces and the Pakistani Taliban, with the destruction of 6 tanks belonging to the Afghan forces.

Tensions between the two neighboring countries began since explosions occurred in Afghanistan last month, including two explosions in the capital, Kabul, which were blamed on Pakistan.

Islamabad accuses Afghanistan of harboring armed groups led by the Pakistani Taliban on its territory, an allegation denied by Kabul. Islamabad also accuses the Pakistani Taliban of killing hundreds of Pakistani soldiers since the Taliban returned to power in Kabul in 2021.
