One killed, two others injured in clashes between two families in Homs

ANHA correspondent reported that armed clashes erupted between the Saqarja and al-Makalda families in Al-Qusayr city, Homs countryside. The clashes began as a minor dispute that suddenly escalated into a violent conflict.

According to local sources cited by ANHA correspondent, the dispute began after a sheep entered agricultural land belonging to one of the families, leading to a verbal altercation that quickly developed into armed clashes.

The clashes resulted in the death of a young man, Fadi Al-Ali (Abu Malik), from the Barhaniya area, in addition to the injury of two others. One of the injured sustained a gunshot wound to the leg, and both were transferred to a hospital for treatment.

Tension continues to prevail in the area following the incident, amid calls from residents to contain the dispute and prevent further clashes, as fears grow over a potential escalation of the conflict between the two sides.

This incident comes amid ongoing local tensions that often arise from individual disputes but rapidly escalate due to the widespread availability of weapons and the absence of swift conflict resolution mechanisms.
