The Democratic Autonomous Administration of the Euphrates Canton issued a statement regarding the massacre committed by the Turkish occupation forces last night, which resulted in the martyrdom of 9 people, including 7 children. The statement also announced their decision regarding the Nowruz celebrations.

The statement was read in front of the building of the Autonomous Administration in the Euphrates Canton, where the Co-Chair of the Executive Council, Farhan Haj Issa, delivered a speech condemning the massacre and expressed condolences to the families of the victims.

Afterwards, the Deputy Co-Chair of the Executive Council of the Autonomous Administration in the Euphrates Canton, Mezgin Khalil, read the statement, which included the following:

"On behalf of the Democratic Autonomous Administration, we congratulate our people on the occasion of Nowruz 2025. We particularly greet leader Abdullah Ocalan, the families of martyrs, the Syrian Democratic Forces, the Women's Protection Units, and the Internal Security Forces. We also commemorate all the martyrs of Nowruz who sacrificed their lives for freedom and dignity, and we renew our commitment to continue the struggle until we achieve their goals.

Nowruz is a symbol of peace, unity, and coexistence. Since the time of Kawa the Blacksmith, Nowruz has become a representation of uprisings against oppression and tyranny, embodying the spirit of resistance and liberation. Nowruz has always instilled fear in tyrants and occupiers while planting hope in the hearts of peoples yearning for freedom.

This year, we were preparing to celebrate Nowruz with unprecedented enthusiasm, especially after the fall of the Ba'ath regime, which for decades sought to erase the identity of this holiday and distort its true meaning. However, the Turkish occupation, which seeks to eliminate the Kurdish people's spirit of resistance, targeted Nowruz again by committing a new massacre in a village south of Kobani. This massacre resulted in the martyrdom of 9 citizens from one family, and two others were severely injured. This is the true face of the Turkish occupation, which has never ceased its policies of killing, destruction, and denial.

Despite the agreement between Mazloum Abdi and Ahmed al-Shara, violations and crimes continue daily in Kobani and North and East Syria, with no clear stance from the Syrian government regarding these violations. At the same time, Turkish airlines continue to bomb the region daily.

We, as the people of the Euphrates Canton, renew our commitment to continue the resistance until we achieve the goals of our martyrs who sacrificed their lives for freedom. We will continue our struggle until we build a democratic, decentralized, and pluralistic Syria, and we will stand firm against occupation to the end.

We strongly condemn these massacres, and due to these attacks, we have decided to cancel all central Nowruz celebrations for 2025 in the cities of the Euphrates Canton, limiting the celebrations to two locations.

Under the slogan: 'The physical freedom of leader Abdullah Ocalan guarantees a democratic Syria,' the Nowruz celebrations will take place in the following locations:

In Ain Issa on March 19.

In Tal Mishterin in Kobani on March 21.

The celebrations will begin at 10:00 AM.

We invite all our people to participate in the spirit of Nowruz and resistance, and to head to the celebration sites as a symbol of our steadfastness in the face of occupation.

The statement ended with the chant: 'Martyrs never die.'"
