Workers at the Mare’ Water Unit in the northern countryside of Aleppo staged a protest demanding the payment of their salaries, which have been delayed for five months, amid worsening living conditions.

They carried banners calling for salary support, equal pay with other governmental departments, and the integration and formal recognition of water units, criticizing what they described as neglect of their areas.

They stressed that the continued delay in salaries is deepening their daily hardships and urged the relevant authorities to intervene urgently and ensure their rights.

In a related development, workers at the “Raqqa Mill” have maintained an open-ended sit-in for several days over the suspension of their wages for the third consecutive month. They said that the situation created severe economic pressure on their families amid rising prices.
