NE, Syria residents adhere their lands in repelling Turkish occupation attacks

Through their attacks and targeting the regions of North and East Syria and their infrastructure, the Turkish occupation is trying to complete the policy of demographic change that it began in the occupied areas in order to replace the population resisting the occupation with the families of its mercenaries who support it, as confirmed by the people of the city of Manbij and those displaced from the areas occupied by Turkey, in which ANHA agency explored opinions the people.

In this regard, Abdul Hanan Hussein, an expatriate from al-Shahba canton to the city of Manbij, from the Kurdish component, said: “The Turkish occupation and its mercenaries displaced thousands of the people of the city of Afrin, and settled there the families of their mercenaries from Ghouta, Homs, and others, and even the families of ISIS mercenaries from foreign countries that they settled, in order to achieve their occupation interests, they worked to change the demographics and change the monuments and archaeological symbols in the occupied city of Afrin.”

Abdel Hanan continued: “Systematic bombardment is being carried out by Turkish occupation targeting infrastructure of electricity, fuel…etc., in North and East Syria on a daily basis, as well as to cutting off the water in increasing their suffering, Erdogan talks about the siege and bombing in Gaza, and he is the one who cuts off everything from us, even drinking water.”

He concluded his speech saying that "The occupation and its mercenaries believe that by bombing and targeting infrastructure they will displace us from northern and eastern Syria, but we tell them that we will not leave our land and our country. We will liberate the areas they occupy and we will return to Afrin and Al-Shahba and to all the occupied areas."

For her part, Natalie Yusufan, Turkmen IDP from al-Shahba district to Manbij, said: “The Turkish occupation and its mercenaries are displacing the indigenous population from the occupied areas with all their components, because they do not accept the presence of the occupation and its mercenaries on their land, so it replaces them with the families of its mercenaries who accept its occupation. It also targets areas North and East Syria to displace the people there and hand them over to the terrorists who are today wreaking havoc in the occupied areas.”

In his turn, Sheikho Mohammad, a resident of Manbij, pointed out, "The Turkish occupation is trying, through its attacks and striking the infrastructure and grain silos, to starve our people, but whatever they do, we will refuse our offer and we will not dispense with it or leave it to their terrorists. We will defend it no matter the cost."

At the conclusion of his speech, Sheikho pointed out that the Turkish occupation has precedents in displacing people and occupying lands, as in Afrin, Serêkaniyê / Ras al-Ain, and Girê Spi / Tal- Abyed, and the practice of demographic change in the areas it occupies, and the replacement of the people of those areas with settlers from mercenary families.

He said: "No matter how much the Turkish occupation escalates its attacks and no matter how much it targets the infrastructure, we will remain on our land and will not leave it no matter the cost. We will liberate our occupied areas and confront the occupation."

Citizen Ibrahim al-Issa, also a resident of Manbij, said: “We are exposed to threats from the Turkish occupation and bombing on a daily basis, targeting infrastructure that is not permissible to be targeted under international laws and conventions. It also targets farmers and people everywhere. They want to displace us from our land.”

Ibrahim al-Issa added: “The occupation and its mercenaries will not be able to displace us from our land because we will not abandon it and we will resist and remain in it, and they will not be able to complete the demographic change they started in the occupied areas. We will remain in our country, populating it and cultivating it in a participatory spirit, no matter how much they increase their crimes, for we are the owners of this land.”
