The National Guard announced that it had thwarted an infiltration attempt launched at dawn on Monday by forces affiliated with the Syrian Interim Government towards one of its positions west of Sweida city, resulting in casualties among the attackers.

Regarding the latest developments, the official spokesperson for the National Guard, Major Talal Amer, stated in an audio message to ANHA agency that their forces had repelled an infiltration attempt at dawn today by what he described as "terrorists and extremists of the Damascus government" towards their positions in the vicinity of the town of Walgha, and that a cautious calm now prevails in the area.

Major Amer reported that the attempt occurred "at 2:15 a.m. on Monday" from a farm on the western axis along the roads adjacent to the town of Walgha.

He added, "Our forces stationed on that axis confronted the group and left killed and wounded among its members."

Amer described the attack as "a violation that embodies the criminal approach adopted by the terrorist authority ruling Damascus in its failure to adhere to the truce." He explained that this was part of a series of attacks targeting residential neighborhoods, schools, and buses transporting humanitarian aid, in addition to blocking off roads for relief convoys.

Major Amer concluded by emphasizing the readiness of the National Guard Forces to respond decisively, immediately, and with deterrent to such violations and transgressions, in order to preserve the security of the mountain and the safety of its inhabitants.
