The Sheikh Ali Deeb Abu Rami and his wife, members of the Alawite community from the village of Dneiba in the Salamiyah countryside, were abducted yesterday by unknown assailants after a raid on their village. Their bodies were discovered today on a side road near the neighboring village of Seneida, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.

The incident has sparked widespread condemnation across the region, the Observatory reported.

In a related development, residents of Ain Al-Sharqiya gathered today to bid farewell to three farmers, including a child, who were reportedly killed by foreign fighters affiliated with Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham. The funeral procession turned into a mass demonstration, with thousands demanding the expulsion of foreign militants from the area. Protesters expressed their outrage over the growing lawlessness that jeopardizes regional stability and the safety of its residents, chanting slogans against Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham.
