On Sunday, September, 14, an expanded meeting was held by the Syrian Democratic Council in Hasaka city, with the participation of the council's co-chair, its members from the North and East Syria region, and representatives of its affiliated political parties.

In this context, the co-chair of the Syrian Democratic Council's Relations Office, Hassan Mohammad Ali, said, "An expanded meeting of the Syrian Democratic Council was held in 2023, during a period characterized by complex circumstances and specific policies. Today, after the fall of the Syrian regime, the so-called axis of resistance, and its Russian allies, Syria has entered a new phase that requires a comprehensive review of its political and organizational path."

Mohammad Ali added, "In light of the new changes that have occurred on the Syrian scene, it was necessary to review and discuss the policies of the Syrian Democratic Council, including its bylaws, political document, internal regulations, and roadmap."

He made clear that the importance of this expanded meeting stems "from the utmost necessity of adopting new policies consistent with the current phase, and of making the necessary changes in formulating new policies for the Council in a transparent and clear manner, in light of the new policies being drawn up for a new Middle East and their repercussions for Syria, how the new Middle East will look like, and what our tasks will be in the new Syria."

Mohammed Ali noted that during the meeting, several key points were focused on, among them establishing a balanced policy with all parties without bias and adopting the third approach, which is the optimal solution for success at this stage in international forums. He continued, "This requires us to have a strategy in Damascus and to be partners in Damascus because Syria is being rebuilt, so that we can have an impact on the country's future."

Mohammad Ali highlighted their vision for a new Syria and their message to international powers, regional states, the Syrian interior, and Damascus. He emphasized the need to implement the March 10 Agreement and translate it into reality, adding, "Damascus must take steps in this direction."

Mohammad Ali pointed out the need for international powers to support them for this agreement to succeed, as it will be the cornerstone for building and establishing a new Syria that represents all Syrians.

In conclusion, the co-chair of the SDC's Relations Office, Hassan Mohammad Ali, emphasized, "Through this meeting, we are clarifying our policy with the democratic forces inside Syria so that we can expand our alliances with the goal of establishing a democratic front across all of Syria, so that we can be prepared for the post-transitional phase and the first elections, and manage to be prepared as democratic and political forces to lead Syria."
